Shalom
So....is it possible that you do not realize you are rushed, until you stop rushing? Honestly in a matter of two weeks I had some friendship issues, said good-bye to Mount Pearl Citadel, tried to make plans for september, said good-bye to roomates I have had for four years, packed up my house to move, totally demolished my car, and my 13 year old dog died. Reads like a bad country song doesn't it? :)
During those two weeks I was slightly a wreck but I didn't even realize it until this week. I came to quiet, slow Twillingate and sat in the hamock the other night and I felt like time had stopped. I could hear rustling trees and the far off ocean and that was it. There were no thoughts racing through my mind and no telephone and no computer. The only way to describe the silence was heavy. Everything was still and it was the most surprising thing. I don't think I had actually been perfectly still for a long time. And I thought that that kind of peace, that kind of quiet is a glimpse of what God's original plans for us were. Those feelings were close to shalom, and that in my opinion is much better than the rat race we call 2005.
Be still and know that He is God
